Cherry Blossom Cake

Spread Good Fortune, Longevity and Prosperity wishes for the Lunar New Year. “KUNG HEI FAT CHOI”. That’s Happy New Year in Cantonese. Following the lunar calendar, the new year for the Chinese culture is commencing on January 28 with traditional Festivals celebrating the Year of the Rooster, according to the Chinese zodiac.

This vibrant and gorgeous mini cherry blossom cake I made was covered in red fondant and cherry blossom gumpaste flower and some 3D butterfly 🦋, in leaf 🍃 I used gold edible paint to make it gold.

This design is too feminine and beautiful, and not only for Chinese New Year, its perfect for birthday, anniversary and wedding too. 

I was so inspired to make this cake design. Infact, this design I saw in Sheraton Hotel when I and My friends having lunch with some of his relatives. I saw the cherry blossom cake display in the cake station of the dinning hall. I was so impressed with the design then when I got home I started to make my own cherry blossom cake.

The cake was a moist orange sponge cake with white chocolate ganache filling . My own version of this cake is mini so I used 5inch round cake 6 inch high. I like mini cake there so cute.

This cake is base on my own preference although the design i got from Sheraton Hotel.
