Red velvet Cake

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone….today I bake Red Velvet Cake. There’s nothing quite like a decadent piece of red velvet cake with cream cheese filling.

I love ❤️ it’s unique flavour all it’s own. It’s one of my favourite flavour and I love making it around the holidays because it’s color is so vibrant and festive. This cake is super moist and soft with the enough amount of chocolate the taste is perfect.

INGREDIENTS:

For the cake;

  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup super fine white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 /2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp white vinegar
  • 4drops of deep red gel paste food colour ( color depends on the brand you used) I use American colour

For filling;

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Gumpaste flower (optional)
  • Gold dust and time red heart sprinkle for decoration

METHOD:

  1. Pre heat the oven to 180 C, line a 6×3 inch round cake pan with parchment paper or lightly greased.
  2. In a mixing bowl whisk egg and sugar until pale and smooth then add the oil and milk beat until incorporated then add vanilla extract  gel paste food colour mix well to combine
  3. Sift the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, salt direct to the wet ingredients and beat until fully combine the add the white vinegar.
  4. Pour the batter to the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or when toothpick comes out clean, remove from the oven then let cool completely before add the filling.
  5. To make the filling, cream the cream cheese and butter until smooth the gradually add the powdered sugar. After all sugar add in then add the vanilla extract beat until fluffy and smooth.
  6. Put the cream cheese filling to the piping bag with 1/2 inch round tips, then cut the cake and layered and pipe the cream cheese filling each layer. On the top I put gumpaste flower and 3D butterfly 🦋 then sprinkle the gold dust and tiny red heart ❤️.hope you give a try for my recipe ❤️💕💖💜❣️🦋💞😊🙏 Happy Valentine’s Day.
