I’ve always enjoyed spending jams on my bread, this time I try to make my own version of strawberry jam. I always buy jam but this I make it… using fresh strawberry and with the kick of lemon juice makes my jam more fresh and bit sweet. Before I start to make my jam I prepared bottle or jar where I stored my jam by boiling it so I can stored it longer time.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh strawberries hauled
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fruit pectin
Method:
Remove the stems from the strawberry; in a large bowl mashed the strawberry using potato masher or by hand, so you can have some pulp or chunks but for me I slice the the strawberry into halves because I want more chunky jam, it depends to your desired. Place the mashed strawberry in large pot with lemon juice over high heat, bring to a rolling boil and add the fruit pectin, stir well and add the sugar continue stirring to combine let the bubble fiercely until the mixture reached 220 degrees when tested with a candy thermometer.
Turn off the heat and skim off all the foam that has collected at the top of the jam. Then pour the jam to the prepared bottle or jar let it cools completely and store it to the fridge.
Hope you give a try for my recipe ๐๐
