Gingerbread House 2018

Merry Christmas πŸŽ„ everyone around the world 🌍. This my second year making a gingerbread house 🏠. Although it’s bit hard but I’m having fun and enjoy doing this treat. And all I used for this house is edible everything can eat.

The gingerbread dough I used is quit stable for this house and also good taste. Full of flavours, some other used the golden syrup but for me molasses is works best when it comes to gingerbread house. For the decoration I used candy pebble and sprinkles also some wafer. To assemble I used royal icing. And I set up LED lights so that more bright and more beautiful and gelatine sheet for the windows for glass effect .So here we go……..😊

Stop the mixer remove the dough wrapped with the plastic wrap and pop up to the fridge for about 30 minutes. Pre heat the oven to 170 degrees C line the baking sheet with parchment paper. When the dough is completely chilled rolled the dough and cut the different parts of the gingerbread house, walls side, front and back, roof tops, tower wall and the porch floor . Then bake for about 20 minutes after baking let it cool completely before assembling. While cooling can start to make the royal icing.

To make the royal icing, using the stand mixer with the balloon whisk attached add in the sifted confectioners sugar, meringue powder beat at low speed then gradually pour the warm water to combine then increased the speed to medium high until reach the stiff peaks, transfer the icing to piping bag and sealed to prevent drying and set aside.

To assemble the gingerbread house, first assemble the main roof front, back , sides, top and tower roof, sides and tops. Set aside to harden. Attach the gelatin sheet to all the windows and door the set aside to hardened Then assemble the right wall, back wall, front wall and left wall. Then followed to assemble the tower front door pieces to the center of the front wall. Carefully attach the hardened main roof to the top of the hardened four walls. Then assemble the four tower top walls above the front door. Attach the tower roof to top of the tower top walls.
